Last Saturday we were invited to the California Science Center for IMAX - A Beautiful Planet that will open on April 29th. We got to the California Science Center as soon as it opened at 10am and spent a couple of hours exploring before heading across to the IMAX theatre. The movie is about an hour long which is perfect for kids.
The movie, A Beautiful Planet, takes you through the lifestyle and the views of an astronaut. My favorite part was looking at Earth at night. Seeing all the major cities from outer space was amazing. Your family will learn about how Astronauts get around the Space Center, how they eat, drink, and exercise in space which was amazing seeing a zero g cup! I didn't even know one existed! Another neat thing is learning what they are experimenting in space with growing gardens and seeing other planets. They are also trying to embed in all of us to protect the planet we live in and the effects that are happening due to pollution. All these were great discussions we had on the drive home and at dinner time.
TIP: Explore the Endeavour which you don't have to make a reservation when you purchase an IMAX ticket! Just take your IMAX ticket stub to the Endeavour line which is on the 2nd floor.
My oldest loved the movie and was captured throughout the whole movie. My youngest was getting anxious sitting still. He lasted the whole movie, but he kept asking if it is was over.
