Last Saturday we were invited to the LA Zoo for the new exhibit Dinosaurs: Unextinct at the LA Zoo. The will be at the LA Zoo now through October 31, 2016. The cost is just $5 extra per person. I suggest that you get the tickets when you are there as the online tickets have an added fee per ticket. The exhibit is located by the California Condor area. So when you walk into the zoo go to the right and you will see your first Dinosaur. Stay there for a minute to see the dinosaur spit water out of its mouth!
The exhibit is self guided with 17 animatronic dinosaurs. There are facts about each dinosaur next to each stop. Some dinosaurs have knowledgeable employees that your child can ask questions. I recommend going on a weekday so there is less of a crowd.
Your kids will love making the Stegosaurus robot move! Yes the kids can control this dinosaur.
Kids will love digging for fossils. This area is shaded for a nice break from the sun and I love that they place stools all around for little ones to reach.
Once you have the app downloaded you can scan for dinosaurs and watch them move @LAZoo #DinosAtTheLAZoo pic.twitter.com/ukrba3ztEf

Before you head to the zoo you want to download the free app "Dinosaurs: Unextinct at the LA Zoo". It is a large file so you want to this before getting there. If you forget there is free wifi at the Dinosaurs exhibit for you to use, but it will probably take awhile to download. Now the app didn't work for me on each exhibit, but there was an area as pictured where your kids can use them to collect all the dinosaurs. There is shaded umbrellas for you to take a break from the sun while your kids play with the app and interact with the dinosaurs by making them walk or run and see their surroundings. When you leave the zoo the app will be filled with dinosaur facts for your kids to read on the ride back or at home. Also there is a free prize at the gift shop. The prize is a tattoo stickers.
It took us two hours to go through the exhibit. After we explored the rest of the zoo and then compared the animals to the dinosaurs. Have you gone yet to see the exhibit? What did you think?
