We were invited to check out Dora & Diego Exhibit at Discovery Cube - OC this past weekend. I am loving how the Discovery Cube exhibits are getting bigger with the area they have. This exhibit I recommend for younger than 5 years old. As you can see from the video below there is a lot to do at this exhibit and a lot of sensory activities for little ones. My boys were familiar with the shows so they were glad to see their favorite characters around the exhibit.
At the Pirate Ship kids can dress up as pirates and join the crew to look for buried treasure or pretend to sail the ship and raise the flag. Coins are set for kids to divide the winnings into Pirate Piggies' bank. Kids love inserting the coins and seeing the money count go up. We were hoping it would go to a hundred but it started over.
LEARN: This is a great place to teach your kids about numbers, math, and sharing.
My kids favorite was the Rainforest Maze where they can jump, crawl, climb, and swing as they look for rainforest animals. My oldest was too big for this area. And my little one was perfect for the size.
ACTIVE: Get your kids active in this area. Let them explore all the areas and try their best to get through the obstacles.
The other favorites for both the boys was the Animal Rescue Center were they take a stuffed animal and care for it. First they put the stuffed animal under the scanner to find out if it needs help. It's really cool for them to see and learn what type of animal it is. They get to then bandage and help the animal. From the video above you can see that they can wash the animal then dry it. At the end they place the animal back where they can get better and eat.
LEARN: Teach compassion and how to save these unique animals.
Kids will love putting star shapes to light up the constellations. Help your kids identify the patterns and teach them about space.
LEARN: Take this time to teach your kids about the sky, counting the stars as they place them on, and the shape of the star.
If you need a break the lighted floor area is a great place. There is a bench for parents to sit as they watch their kids dance, hop, and walk around the interactive floor.
Hope you will take your kids to check out the Dora & Diego Exhibit now through May 15th at the Discovery Cube in Orange County.
Did you go to the exhibit? Which is your favorite part?
