Can you believe that Ghost Town at Knott's is celebrating its 75th year?! Crazy to think it has been around that long. My family and I were recently invited to take part of interactive experience, Ghost Town Alive! It was fun taking part of the town and being able to explore inside the normally closed doors of Calico.
One of my favorites is the dress designer and textile area. You can create color dress designs by picking out a dress design paper and then putting it on any stencil you desire with crayons supplied. You will love creating your own dress. This is at no cost.
As you walk around Knotts you may notice guests with mustaches. Find the barber in Ghost Town and pick your mustache:
At the Livery Stable you get to meet some of the horses and donkeys of Knott's as they take their breaks. You can pet them and take pictures. The handlers are there to ask questions.
The Blacksmith is where your family can see first hand how getting metal hot you can manipulate the shape of it. You can purchase horseshoes there too that were made. Anything that you see in the workshop has been made there.

A favorite for all is the Hoe Down! Every evening at 5:30pm gather around for a fun evening. Don't have a partner? Don't worry one of the Calico town citizen's will help you. Watch a video to see what it is like.
This is going on now through September 5th. Make sure you take advantage of strolling through the streets of Calico.
Other fun events:
Circus of Wonders which will end August 21 is done by the Calico Railroad at 9pm.
The new updated GhostRider is a smoother ride! It originally opened in 1998. The restoration is incredible.
Blockbuster Beagle! . . . On Ice which ends also on August 21. This is a great way to take a break from the sun.
