We were invited to Great Wolf Lodge in SoCal and were able to experience the MagiQuest. This is an interactive game for kids and adults to play throughout their stay. You get to battle dragons, befriend pixies and as you wave your magic wand the adventures begin. This took me into the world of Harry Potter. I haven't introduced my kids to the books or movies so I was interested to see if they would like it. The interactive game I recommend for seven and older. Although my four year old had a great time, he didn't grasp the concept of having a quest and figuring out the steps to complete it. Younger kids there is the Clubhouse Crew which is a scavenger hunt more on that later.
First when you arrive at the store which is on the bottom level of the resort you will be selecting your wand. Great Wolf Lodge has a variety of wands to choose from that fit your style. They also have wand toppers and capes to complete the look for you wizards.
As you can see from the video you select the quest you want to go on. Then you have to find items to complete your spell or to battle the dragon. The wand is also used throughout the resort to activate items such as treasure boxes and swords. The activity will take you from the first floor all the way to the sixth floor. Some activity centers are just outside the elevators and some are down the halls. This is a long activity that your child can do throughout their stay. At the Loose Moose Family Kitchen you will find that your wand will activate at the tree. A really cool surprise during dinner. In your room use your wand in the the den and you will hear some friends. Don't worry parents it is set to turn off at a certain time.
Keep your wand and bring it back with you at your next stay at Great Wolf Lodge. What is great is that Great Wolf Lodge owns the product so there will upcoming new quests added in the future. My son is excited for his next quest.
