Disclaimer: We were invited to Olivia's Dollhouse all opinions are my own!
As you may know this past Saturday my readers and I were invited to Olivia's Dollhouse in Upland for a Tea Party. Now I have boys so I thought I would have Catheryn go in my place, but I also wanted to experience it myself! I am so glad I did!
When you arrive you get a warm welcome from the staff. They tell you what to expect, where you can set up the goodies for the parents (if any) and how the schedule would be.
Once the party starts your guests are directed to the back where the fun begins! The staff told us that they lock the front door so you can let your child explore without any worries. If any guests arrive late they ring the doorbell and the staff will open the door and greet them. When you walk in you are surprised by how big the place is.
They have a dressing room for you to change clothes in and a cubby to store your clothes. I loved that you didn't feel rushed to pick out an outfit. Some girls were satisfied with their first pick. Others looked around and took their time picking their dress. There were even outfits for moms! I enjoyed seeing the girls help their mom pick a dress. Being who I am I wanted in on the action too! The initial outfits didn't fit, but then I found one that I could work with.
Once the girls were dressed it was time for hair, nails, makeup (if you want) and accessories. I was shocked to see what they did! All of the hairstyles were really good and it was great hearing the staff talking to the girls about how pretty the outfit was and helping them pick out nail colors. I have two favorite moments from this part:
1 - Seeing the oldest sister help out pick out accessories for her little sister. I am sure mom felt very proud at that moment.
2 - Seeing the mother daughter moment. The smile and glow on the little girls' face watching her mom complete her outfit that she has picked out was an amazing sight.
When all the girls were done, some arrived late and still had time to get dolled up, the girls lined up for a fashion show. As we were waiting for some of the girls the staff entertained with circle time. The girls turned to each other and complimented one another. They gave each other a turn and the staff did a great job at instructing the girls on what to do. They walked, did a twirl, and then stop to strike a pose!
Then the moms that dressed up had a turn on the runway. I will spare those moms with the pictures. The moms gathered in the living room and the girls were introduced one by one by their princess name. Then after each girl was introduced they headed to the dining area.
The table is heart shaped and each setting has its own teapot. The girls enjoyed pizza and sandwiches. In their teapot was lemonade. The staff would come around and refill their plates and teapots. They supply the moms with water and veggies in another room. I brought in muffins. Since there was room at the table the moms decided to join. The birthday girl would sit at the head of the table and she receives a bell that she can ring when she has a request. Since there was no birthday the girls had turns receiving the bell. The girls LOVED ringing the bell. The moms were glad they didn't get to take it home. After the meal the girls were served dessert which included a piece of cake, cotton candy, and small candy assortment. As we sat around the table we talked about our favorite part of the day. It was nice hearing that everyone enjoyed their time.
Once the girls were done eating they were directed to the back to change their clothes and were rewarded with picking out a prize from the chest.
We had an amazing time and would love to thank Olivia's Dollhouse for having us!
Now it's your turn, have you ever been?
