If you haven't been to Vincent Lugo Park in San Gabriel you must put it on your bucket list of things to do in SoCal with your family. This is the place where your kids will grow up and think they only dreamed of such a place. Giant sea creatures around the playground for your kids to climb and slide. The best time to visit is during the cold months as some of these structures can get hot as the sun is hitting them. The kids had a blast running around and sliding at this monster playground.
As you can see that the kids are in awe of the place. All the structures are fun for the kids to climb on. They also have a shipwreck so if you kids like to play pirates you can easily create a treasure map for them to play. Maybe if I have time I will create a printable for you to take along with you next time you visit the park.
Most of the slides are made out of concrete. Slide through a whale's mouth or the back of a giant snail, these two can get pretty hot in the summer! Everything is surrounded by sand. I took some sand toys for my kids to play with. This was necessary as the kids get really hot running around in the sun. Put the sand toys in a nice shady spot for a break and recoup.
My recommendation is to get their early as it tends to get crowded during lunch hour and then leave after you had a picnic there. You don't want to get stuck in traffic on the way home.
So tell me what your memories are of this place?
