Anna Paola Snaidero’s Abstracts and Surrealism exhibit
Italian-born artist Anna Paola Snaidero will exhibit her new collection of paintings titled “Abstract Surrealism,” this month at the Santa Monica Art Gallery. The art show exhibition will be on display March 14-29th, 2015.
A long-time abstract painter, Anna Paola uses thinned-down acrylics to fill her canvases with strikingly intricate images, bold hues, and richly layered density, inspired by the bright colors of Southern California’s natural environment. Her paintings seek to explore and build upon her voice as an abstractionist, while also introducing a whimsical series of statues. In this “Surreal Statues” series, she demonstrates the irony of the passing of time. The deterioration of a statue - the memory of a broken life - juxtaposed with the transcendency of time and new lives coming in to animate it. “These paintings express the phases and feelings of my life, the joys and happiness that I am thrilled to share with others to help further grow as an artist,” Anna Paola said.
